The week in brief
The eighth edition ran under the theme Innovation for Sustainable Development. A Dar es Salaam programme at JNICC ran from 10 to 13 May, followed by the main events in Dodoma from 16 to 19 May together with MAKISATU, the national competition for science, technology and innovation led by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Responding to the Prime Minister's call at the closing of IWTz2021, activities were designed to happen across the country in a hybrid format of physical, virtual and livestreamed events. The Dodoma opening was received by the First Vice President of Zanzibar, Hon. Othman Masoud Othman, and brought together more than 500 participants, with over 80 innovators exhibiting.
